I applaud you and give you the highest respect for what you did. I believe you did the right thing, I also believe if your decision had been to have had an abortion it would have been the right decision for you as well. At the end of the day you enabled a life to be born and gave the child more opportunities then it would have had with you or if you had decided to terminate the child.
It was your decision and as long as you are happy then it was the right resolution for your situation. I think it shows maturity in your actions that you switched from one perspective onto another and had an open mind to look at all the options and choose the best one for yourself, the child and the father involved. And not only was it a choice that was best for you but it also was able to bless other people like the mom that was able to take on the care of your child. 7.4 million women struggle from infertility every year and for you to be able to gift someone with the joy of having a child which she so desperately wanted, I’m sure it was one of the most incredible and joyful days of that new moms life.
I see abortion as more of a topic that should be looked at person by person. It is unfair and unnecessary to look at the issue of abortion as a majority issue, when for some women it’s the best issue and for others like yourself , Juno, there are other options. I believe that the topic of abortion should legally be left up to the states and that the government shouldn’t be involved. This is a person by person and a situation by situation topic.
Although in my own personal life and beliefs I think it is extremely unsound to kill a living being, and no matter how you look at it, the moment the sperm attaches to the egg a life is created. I wouldn’t label myself conservative nor would I label myself Liberal when it comes to this topic because I understand and believe certain standpoints from both views. But I stand firm in the fact that a life is a life no matter how small or big and young or old it is.
Every pregnancy is different. Every family is different. Every single mom or dad is different. And every family or friend involved in the parent’s life are different from whatever perspective you look at this topic. Juno you made the right choice for you and those involved and I respect you for what you chose to do.
